Canon IXUS 860 IS / PowerShot SD870 IS Digital Camera

This is a great camera for the average person who desires a very clear picture (it has 8 megapixels). It has an image stabilizer to eliminate blurry pictures caused by shaky hands. Unfortunately, it also can have a rather long delay before actually taking the picture, which is not good if you are trying to capture a pet or child in the act. This is a great camera in low light (I can usually pick up details of my black cats in a dimly lit room). It is easy to carry in a pocket or purse, has a huge screen, and also does short videos, so it is great for vacations. I can zoom in on small details from across the room. The only other problem is that the menu options are not always clear. Also, it was moderately expensive. Canon remains my favorite brand for cameras. Derek Borcherding, Cincinnati, OH.
