Not a bad first camera
Date of Review: Jul 16, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to the first time camera buyer
I received this camera as a christmas gift. While I have had Kodak digital cameras in the past, I have to say that I am not overly impressed with this one. First, it does feel "cheap" and while the 7.2 mega pixels should provide for a great picture, I find that they tend to be very grainy in most situations. I will say that using the camera and transferring photos onto a computer is a breeze. I also like the settings because they are easy to use, and the turn knob is marked clearly. The viewing screen is a great size and resists scratches well. The camera itself is compact and fits in a pocket very well. But I have to say the camera bag kodak recommends for this camera is far too large and cumbersome! Find a different one!
As for another reviewers comment about the battery, I actually like it. I use the cable and charge it through my computer and it is very convenient. I actually prefer it better than having to buy AAA batteries, but it is just my opinion. Also, the reviewer commented about the memory cards... I find SD memory to be fairly inexpensive, even for the larger size, and the camera comes with one!
Another thing I like is that the camera is compatible with the printing docs and is very inexpensive and prints great pics! I would say that this would be a great first digital camera for either a college grad or an older relative who is just getting started, but if you are looking to upgrade or replace, I would pick something different. I can't complain since it was a present though.
