Panasonic DVD-RV41-A (Australian Version)
Date of Review: Oct 4, 2001
The Bottom Line: A great mid-high end DVD player perfect for the first time user or home cinema enthusiast!
This is the best DVD player I have used. Panasonic have out done themselves this time. It has 5.1 Analogue outputs, digital (coaxial and optical) outputs, and mixed stereo outputs, along with S-Video, RCA and Composite video outputs. It will play any CD-R or closed CD-R/W , DVD (Region 4 only for Aussies, but rumour has it Pana will release a firmware upgrade that will make it multiregion by inserting the new disc). It looks good on the outside too, very stylish (Only silver is available in Australia) and it has great control features like its 100x scan (ff and rewind) modes. It also plays sound in 2x mode. One of my favourite little features is when you turn the power off, it fades out the picture and sound. It had really good on screen menus that are easily understood. It is also a very solid machine, the tray lacks the wobble of its competitors. Overall a great DVD plaer.
