Works but is a pain

Norton internet security works well and does stop infections and provides you with everything you need for safe surfing and a healthy PC. however its no longer on any of PC's becuase its such a pain. It pops up windows all the time even though I turned all of that stuff off. It simply will not do its job in silence, plus it seems to use a lot of processing power and take a long time to update.
I'm sure some people will love it but its just too much of a pain for my liking I want something that doesn't pop up alerts even five minutes.
